Victor Sheverda, an Assistant Project Manager in Parker, Colorado, is profoundly engaged in the construction industry. This exposure was crucial in shaping his career path, further defined during his time at Colorado State University. There, he served as the president of the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) chapter and played a significant role on the Integrated Project Delivery ASC Competition Team, tackling real-world construction management issues and developing practical solutions. His ambitions in the construction field are expansive. He wants to earn certifications like Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified ScrumMaster (CSM). He envisions himself managing extensive construction projects and starting a consulting firm to enhance industry practices and mentor upcoming professionals. His foundational experiences in his family's business, which specialized in using Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) for residential buildings, instilled in him a strong commitment to sustainable building practices. This method enhances energy efficiency and ensures excellent protection against environmental challenges, principles he carries into every project. From a young age, he exhibited a strong work ethic and leadership skills, further honed through his engagement in sports, particularly tennis, during his school years. He led his tennis teams to numerous victories, achieving multiple regional and state championships, highlighting his ability to inspire and guide teams. Vik Sheverda also spent a considerable part of his childhood in Hawaii, where he developed a deep appreciation for the environment, a value that heavily influences his professional commitments today. In university, he led an innovative project to install Piezoelectric Tiles in heavy foot traffic areas to generate energy, showcasing his proactive approach to sustainable construction. Initially pursuing civil engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder in 2015, he realized his passion lay in construction management and transferred to Colorado State University. He excelled academically, graduating with a 3.78 GPA, earning induction into the Sigma Lambda Chi Honor Society, and consistently making the Dean's List. In his current role at i2 Construction in Parker, CO, he manages various phases of construction projects, ensuring that each project is completed efficiently and to high standards. Previously, he worked as a construction estimator and project engineer at Saunders Construction in Denver, contributing to significant projects like developing a central heat recovery system. One of the most significant experiences in his career was his internship at the United States Capitol, where he contributed to preserving historical architectural elements. He holds this honor in high regard. Outside of work, he actively participates in community service through programs like CM Cares and Habitat for Humanity, applying his skills to improve housing for those in need.
